Why do Kingdom Halls not have windows?

Kingdom Halls are functional structures used for worship by Jehovah's Witness congregations. The cost of to erect a Kingdom Hall decreases when windows are not included. Additionally, a building designed with no windows can be erected more quickly. Many kingdom Halls do have windows, leading to the conclusion that there is no religious restriction concerning the inclusion of windows.

The sanctuary is the place of reverence and worship. With stained glass windows you tend to look at their beauty. Besides that God needs no windows for He is everywhere.

They originally did not have windows because it is cheaper and faster to build a building without windows. There is nothing that Jehovah's Witnesses do inside that they are trying to hide by not having windows. Many Kingdom Halls built nowadays do have windows because many people thought it was odd that they did not.
