Why do I have white scabbing on a tattoo?

The tattoo is healing properly, and you're using an adequate amount of ointment to moisturize and protect it. The tattoo is healing under the ointment, while your skin is still naturally shedding its outermost layer of dead skin cells. These cells appear white because of the ointment.

white scabbingare from clogged pores and its signs that tattoo can't breathe. washoff the tattoowith antibacterial soap. scabbingis normal. if your using vaseline- sortof lanolinbased ointment, tattoogoo,etc switch2 anunscented lotion.

Was the color white used? If not it could be the soap you are using to clean the area with, do not use a soap with perfumes or dye's, rinse the area thoroughly and pat dry, use bacitracien regularly and avoid picking or rubbing the area.

The white scabbing is actually plasma that has dried. It is completly normal to have this. Just make sure you don't pick at it or it could fade your color.

White scabbing can occur on a healing tattoo. Keep washing it as normal and try not to let the scabs build up.

Scabbing could be your skin reacting to the tattoo. They usually give you an ointment that you have to place on the tattoo in the first few days.
