Why do I have moths in my litter box?

Actually, it's my cats' litter box.

If you are using a clay based litter, changing over to a synthetic type will rid the problem right away. Moths are attracted to the ingredient in the litter, and think they should eat it. On one hand, completely harmless, on the other hand, a bit creepy. They might scare your cats as well.

I have the same problem and I use the world's best cat litter, which is all natural, made from corn. Don't know why though! I kill them, and we haven't had the doors open during winter but they seem to get in somehow.

Seems like a strange thing to have in a litter box! Try switching to a different litter. Try something organic or even just try reading the ingredients on the litter you have, it may be attracting them somehow.

No idea why you have moths in it, but the best thing to do about it would be to empty the whole box and start over with fresh litter.
