Why are electrical wires in homes color coded?

This is a requirement of the UK Building and Electrical wiring Regulations 17th Edition which lays out a standard color code for wiring conductors used within the domestic installations, these colors consist of Brown - Live, Blue - Neutral, Yellow - Earth. this can be PVC flat twin and earth.

Wires are different colors to tell them apart. Danger can arise if there is not an easy way to tell apart wires coming from or going to different places.

They are coded so that you know which wires go where and what wire you are working with if you or an electrician needs to mess with you electrical.

Electrical wire is color coded according to residential or industrial use. if it is for home use two color is used to now about the input and output of current supply. when any repair comes we have to identify the problem so when the color of the wire is different we can identity it easily.

They are color coded to signify what they are. If there were not different colors you would not be able to distinguish between a hot, neutral, or ground. It makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot and make the instulation of an electrical system a lot easier. Plus, it is a requirement of the NEC code.
