A pulsating sound in one's ear is caused when blood is being pumped through the arteries. Often if one's blood pressure is a bit high it can be heard clearly.

You might have injured or accidentally hit your ear drum which causes that pulsating sound, also you might want to check if you left some water in your inner ear.

There are major vessels going too and fro from the neck to the brain. They go very close to the skull and occasionally the pulsation from them can be felt in the ear. Very rarely the tumors of these vessels can cause a pounding pulsation in the ear.

The most common reason for a pulsating sound in the ear is a build-up of wax, which can be due to not cleaning it or as a result of an ear infection, which can also cause pain and/or swelling. Other causes could be an injury or a sinus disorder. A doctor would need to diagnose you.

It's because there's a wax build up causing pressure to the eardrum so you're hearing your heart beating.

It could be because of a problem with your inner ear or ear drum. The best bet would be to consult with an ear nose and throat doctor.
