Who would win the fight if it was a hippo v. a bear?

A hippopotamous would be more likely to win in a fight against a bear. The Hippo has much larger and more powerful jaws than the bear does, and could easily kill a bear in just one or two chomps. Their skin is much thicker as well, which would resist the clawing of the bear.

Hippos are bigger than most bears (though not polar bears, for example), but hippos are well-adapted to the water. Unless the bear goes in the water, the hippo will lose and the bear will win easily. In the water, the hippo will beat the bear using sheer strength while the bear flounders.
