Mithridates was the King of Pontus, most famous for taking antidotes for poison on a regular basis to prevent his murder by his opponents.

Mithridates was a king in what is now Turkey in the first century BC. He conquered large amounts of territory to add to his empire but was defeated by the Roman general Pompey in 63 BC.
