Proctor Silex makes inexpensive, simple, browning-adjustable toasters that sell for around fifteen dollars. Back To Basics makes a 2-slice toaster/egg poacher for a bit more. More expensive toasters like Kitchenaid have motorized lifts, extra-wide slots, an LCD display with a countdown timer, and different settings such as warm, bagel, reheat, and defrost and can sell for around eighty dollars.

Almost all brands do good toasters. Look for the one that has the open slot size that you need, the one that uses least power and finally search the one that has the style of your kitchen. Keep in mind that the difference between two brands oculd be so sutile that the prize decides

Toasters are a very personal choice and I always found that Toastmaster makes a good model and I always look for toastmaster brand when I am looking for a new toaster.
