The Freedom from Religion Foundation is primarily an organization for atheists, and those who do not believe in God. Many people join because they are atheists, and they also disapprove of religious influences in American society, and attempts to weaken the "spearation of church and state" in the United States.

This Madison, Wisconsin-based group, dedicated to complete and absolute separation of church and state, tends to overwhelmingly attract atheists and agnostics, but is open to anyone who shares their views.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation requires atheism for membership. It believes that not only is there no God or Gods but that all religious expression needs to be banished from the public sphere. They do recognize the right to private religious beliefs and acts.

Your first and second sentences are false. Many FFRF members do not consider themselves atheists. FFRF also only opposes government religious expression.  add a comment

Freedom From Religion Foundation members call themselves freethinkers and include mostly atheists and agnostics but anyone can join. Their main creed and purpose is to keep church matters and government matters separate and to uphold the first amendment rights of all Americans (freedoms of religion, speech, press and assembly). Activities range from educational seminars to demonstrations or lawsuits.
