The first reference I can find to drunkenness in the Bible is describes Noah becoming intoxicated after planting a vineyard: "Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded [a] to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent" (Genesis 9: 20-21). This is from the NIV Bible.

Noah was the first human being that we know of in the Bible to become drunk. This is from Genesis chapter nine starting in verse 20. Noah drank wine from his own vineyard. He then became intoxicated, laying uncovered in the tent. Ham looked at him, but the other sons avoided that and covered him up. Noah then cursed Ham.

In the book of Genesis (Chapter 9: 20-22), Noah was found drunk and naked by his son Ham. He told his brothers Shem and Japheth and they decided to cover their father's nakedness. Noah awoke with a hangover and chided his children for covering him up even though they were trying to avoid bringing him shame.

Wow! You're adding things. It never said Noah had a hangover! And he only cursed Canaan, (the son of Ham) not all his kids! Wow!  add a comment

The first record that I can find in the Bible of the mention of someone getting drunk is after the Flood, Noah planted a vineyard, 'began drinking of the wine and became intoxicated.' This happening is recorded in the Scriptures to show how Noah's curse on Canaan came to be uttered
