Charles Manson, Jr. is actually the son of Charles Manson and Rosalie Willis. He was born in the 1950s and committed suicide in the 1990's. Not a whole lot is known about him though. I think when you hear people comparing crazy people to Manson, they mean the one serving life in prison for masterminding the Tate murders though.

Manson was the leader of a commune-like group in the 1960s called The Manson Family. He instructed his followers to commit crimes, including the murders of the pregnant Sharon Tate (married to Roman Polanski at the time), Rosemary and Leno LaBianca and others for no other reason that it was something to do. Manson is incarcerated in California.
