I like the sponge mop. I find them better than the mop that is comprised of lots of strings. And I think they also get floors cleaner than a Swiffer.

I think swiffer clean jet is the best mop. It's easy to use. You can throw the wipes away after you are done. It won't streak

Get a good dry mop if you are planning on doing both hardwood and ceramic with it, a heavy water mop could damage the hardwood floor over time. If you have really stubborn marks to clean use a damp sponge and soap.

A great multi use mop used in the furniture showroom industry is the Shammy type mopheads. They also have the advantage of being easy to wash and reuse

The best type of mop is actually a steam mop. There is a wide variety of brands to choose from in most stores. They easily lift dirt, stains, and anything that can be spilled onto the floor, off of it without leaving streaks, residue, or slippery puddles of water behind.
