50/50 Solder is best for using copper and brass applications. 95/5 is a general purpose (Tin and Antimony) solder and should not be used on any brass applications.

Either one is fine. I would use 95/5 solder because it's more common, it's more readily available, and it should hold for as long as you need it to hold.

Since this for plumbing, I would use 95/5 solder which is lead free. It is 95% tin and 5% antimony. Safe for human exsposure.

95/5 solder is more common and used on a regular basis. This means if you solder your own pipes and then need a professional to come in later to work on them it won't be as complicated. 95/5 solder is also lead free with is another thing to worry about when dealing with water pipes.

To plumbing fixtures you should use lead-free solder rated for plumbing because any solder alloyed with lead is apt to leach highly toxic lead into your water. Surfaces should be as clean as you can make them. Use rosin flux and apply heat to the copper nearby, but not directly on, the junction until solder flows in freely.
