I think that Roland keyboards sound like real piano. I had a chance to play on Roland RD-300GX and the feeling of keys is almost like in real piano and the sound itself is very good, everything also depends on the preset.

To get the authentic sound of a real piano the best keyboard to get would be a Yamaha P90. It has weighted keys and the soundbank of a professional studio.

There are many electric keyboards that do have a very authentic piano sound. Most higher end studio keyboards have excellent sound libraries including all sorts of different types of pianos (upright, grand, baby grand). The best sounding low budget electric keyboard company is yamaha, specifically the "P" series, which uses the same sound-bank as the more expensive "S" series.

The most common difference between keyboards and pianos are the keys. If you would like a keyboard that sounds like a piano, the first thing you have to look for is weighted keys. One of the top best brands is Yamaha P. They have authentic sounding keyboards.

Many people avoid electric keyboards because they find the sound artificial. Kurzweil has some of the best electric keyboards that mimic the sound of a real piano.

Roland keyboards like real pianos, though most digital keyboards are un descernably different. When searching for a digital keyboard the feel of a piano was as important as the sound.

Generally the more expensive ones do. The cheaper the keyboard, the less it sounds like a real piano. Your best bet is to go to a store and try them out.
