Where is the pattern in x+2y=3 and 2x-y=-4?

What is the pattern? I need an answer pretty quickly.

These form perpendicular lines. You calculate the slope for a line Ax+By=C as follows: slope = -A/B. The slope of the first line is -1/2, the slope of the second line is 2. If the product of two slopes is -1, then the lines corresponding to those slopes are perpendicular.

x = 3 - 2y Substitute in 2 (3 - 2y) - y = -4 y = 2 x = -1
