Where is the crankshaft position sensor in a Buick?

It is located directly under the upper radiator hose. Locate the hose flowing from the radiator to the engine. You will need to remove the clamp and hose from the engine carefully. That will give you good access to the sensor which will now be very visible. Be gentle with it's wiring while removing it. It tends to become brittle.

Generally on newer Buicks, the crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the motor on the outside of a toothed wheel bolted to the crankshaft.

The crankshaft position sensor is located on the accessory drive side of the motor. The crank shaft is the fat pulley and the lowest on the engine. The crank shaft position sensor is located on the timing cover and picks up the toothed sprocket on the back side of the crank shaft pulley. One bolt holds it on.

which engine? assuming 3800 (because they have issues with them) the crankshaft position sensor is located behind the crankshaft / balancer pulley. which must be removed to replace the sensor.
