In the gospel of Luke (Luke 13:10) it states "And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath". In Luke 14:6 Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath and asked the attending Pharisees if it was lawful to heal on the Sabbath. He received no answer, which indicates his belief that healing and teaching are permitted.

In the gospel of Mark 2:27-28 "And He (Jesus) said to them the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also lord of the sabbath. " In chapter 3 Jesus speaks of healing on the sabbath. He healed a man's hand on the sabbath.

Jesus was accused of healing and doing miracles on the Sabbath, by the Pharisees. He responded, which one of you will not pull a animal out of ditch on the Sabbath? If that is so why should he not heal a human being. You can read it in Luke 14:1-6.

Look for the verses where Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for healing the sick on the Sabbath. He responded that they understood the letter of the law but not the concept behind it. The Sabbath was made for man for a day of rest for our benefit. Doing good on the Sabbath is never a bad thing.

A place you can look is John Ch 5:1-16. In this account Jesus heals a man on the sabbath. The religious leaders at the time, and some others oppose what Jesus is doing. He gives a explanation of his view of the sabbath

In the gospels, Jesus taught that the sabbath was a day set aside by God for His people to rest and that's how the law came about to honor the sabbath day. But after Jesus's death, Christians were no longer under the ceremonial law and this includes the sabbath. Now we rest from our works and rest in Christ.

Read in the book of Mathew chapter twelve verse one up to verse eight. You will find that the pharisees complained to Jesus that His disciples were doing what not right during sabbath by looking for food. Jesus by giving them examples from the bible,He told them that He is the lord of the sabbath.
