The orifice tube attaches to the evaporator inlet, in line between the condenser and the evaporator, or in the condenser outlet

An orifice tube is used in small cooling systems and it connects the liquid refrigerant line from the condensor discharge to the beginning of the evaporator coil. It regulates the amount of liquid refrigerant that enters the evaporator to ensure the correct evaporation rate of the refrigerant and prevent flooding the evaporator with excess refrigerant.

It should attach directly on to the main ballast tank of your AC unit. It should be clearly labeled and down low near the bottom, probably covered in either electrical or blue tape to prevent corrosion. I would recommend that you consult the schematic located in your AC user manual.

The orifice tube typically like below the liquid line and attaches to the evaporator (that would be the radiator-looking thing)!
