Ikea is a great place to get a sense of what size bed you need, and even how it would look, by viewing their displays.

all you would need for a day bed is two twin mattresses. I have one and I just got two twin ones fir it.

It is a twin size mattress. I know that for a fact because I used to have one in my bedroom. You can go to slumberland, Ashley furniture, Ikea, or any place like that. If you really need help a mattress sales person for help in choosing the best mattress.
