The casting number for Chevrolet small block V8 engines is found on the top of the engine block, on the driver's side.

Chevy casting numbers are usually located on the driver's side on the top of the motor. An easy way to find them is to find the top bolt hole of the bell housing and then look toward the driver's side on the block and you should see a raised casting number.

Chevy casting number are usually located om the driver's side on the top of the motor. If you could find main bolt, number are just on opposite side.

The Chevy small block V8 engine has these numbers locate on the engine towards the driver's side. If you could find the main bolt, you will see the numbers are just on the opposite side.
