When should I call the doctor if my child has a fever?

I have a 1-year-old, and I want to know how long I should let his fever go.

It depends on how sick he is. Unless he seems really ill, a low-grade fever (below 101) for a few days is usually just a minor viral illness.

If your childs fever spikes or does not go away within three days you should contact your doctor at once. Watch for other symptoms and give her the correct dose of tyloenole to keep the fever at bay. As well as cool baths. Make sure you keep her hydrated as well.

If your child's fever is over 100 degrees call the doctor and get his opinion. A fever of 103 can start to kill brain cells and the child could die from it. Give your child some medicine to try to get his fever down but if it doesn't go away in an hour or two bring him to the doctor.
