I feed and weed my lawn on different occasions. I try to weed my lawn whenever it looks as though it needs it. If we have just had a big rain followed by sunshine, I will weed due to the new growth. Otherwise, I try to weed once every couple days. I feed my lawn about once every two weeks.

I remember working in the yard for hours with my dad and he would weed and feed the lawn in the spring before it got way to hot.

We live in central Iowa and try to feed and weed our lawn three times per year. The first time would be in the spring, approximately one month later, and then in the fall of the year before the grass goes dormant for the winter.

The time to weed your lawn depends on your geographical location and therefore your growing season. Weed early in the growing season so the weeds cannot choke out the desired grasses. The same rule of thumb applies for feeding. Get the first growth good and strong and the lawn will mostly take care of itself.
