As with any breed dog, consistency and repetition is the key to good lifelong training. Start with the basics sit being the first. Use a collar and leash for training,at first and offer treats as rewards. Make training fun and as a game so the dog will remain interested.

Boxers are highly intelligent and stubborn. The best thing to do is start by getting him socialized and learning the basics, plus teaching him who is the alpha dog. A good, certified puppy class is the best way for this. Also, crate training at home will help your boxer with house breaking and provide him with a sense of security.

A dog's color has nothing to do with how you train it. All dogs are trained (for obedience) essentially the same way with adjustments for certain temperaments/personalities/etc. Use a pinch color, not a choke chain. Use a crate for housetraining. There are loads of great websites on these subjects.

You should start training your brindle boxer as soon as your bring him home. You can do this training yourself or take classes. Search the internet or library for training books and materials or call your local humane society for a list of trainers in you area

What type of training? If it is obedience training you can start that when they are puppies just as with any other breed of dog.
