Using a ladder and utilizing a long pole or rake to open up the web will allow birds and insects access to worms. Preventive measures include keeping ground area and dead debris away from trees and checking leaves regularly. Eggs hatch in early spring and by midsummer another generation arrives.

If they are outside a strong steady stream of water works really well. If they are inside or where you cannot spray with water a shop vac. with extensions and a brush attachment works great. If you don't have shop vac a long handled broom works too.
