One of the advantages of buying a Symphonic TV/VCR combo is the space saving aspect.You don't have to buy two seperate machines when one compact unit will do the job.
The only adavantage to have a vcr is that you don't see too many aroud anymore. Everything is going to dvd so I would deffinately purchase one and then you will always have it for your kids and other generations.
