What were the original northern colonies?

Can you help me settle a dispute between my brother and I by listing the original northern colonies.

The original Northern Colonies include New Hampshire,Massachusetts,Rhode Island,and Conneticut. The Middle Colonies are New York,Pennsylvania,New Jersey,and Delaware. The Southern Colonies are Maryland,Virgina,North Carolina,South Carolina,and Georgia. There are thirteen colonies.

The original northern colonies included the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, New Hampshire Colony, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and Connecticut Colony. Furthermore, Maine and Vermont were not one of the original thirteen colonies, and New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware are considered part of the original middle colonies.

There were originally thirteen colonies total in the new world when they were exploring the new world. The original northern colonies 1.) Rhode Island 2.) New Hampshire 3.) Massachusetts and 4.) Connecticut.
