There are many claims to the first movie ever made but the most compelling comes from the inventor of the cinematograph Louis Lumiere who screened a series of films on 28 December 1895, the first of which was called La Sortie des usines Lumiere.

I've heard that the first film was "Strongman Shadow" in the year 1890. But the first one with a based story line is "The Great Train Robery", but no one really knows for sure.

Not sure because I grew up in a small town in the Philippines and TVs were so expensive that only a few families were able to afford them. All I can remember is that when we finally had a black and white TV, we only had three channels and we mostly watched soap operas.
