The Columbian Exchange was an exchange of life and culture. From a widespread exchange of plants, food, culture, slaves and even sickness between the old and new world. It was set in motion by Christopher Columbus and remains till this day one of the most impacting ecology, agriculture, and culture events in human history!

In 1492, when Columbus sailed... and landed in the new world with his fellow Europeans, was the beginning of what we now call "invasive species" and the extinction of many species of flora and fauna. Europeans brought diseases which wiped out entire New World tribes who then passed on syphilis.
