It was part of the Army 79th division, made up of men from Maryland who were drafted and sent to Camp Meade. They fought in France in 1918, at Meuse-Argonne and St. Mihiel.

In 1918, the 310th field artillery regiment was part of the 78th Infantry Division is the U. S. Army. They fought in two major campaigns, the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne.
