What was everyday life like in biblical times?

From reading the bible, it seems that everyday life was very difficult during biblical times.

It would be harder for us because we have it so much easier. Since it was all they knew, they probably didn't think much about life being easier. They lived very rural lives. Usually each family had a profession that they would teach to their children and so on, such as farming, carpentry, tentmaking, and fishing.

The majority of people had minimal possessions outside what was necessary for their families to survive. Luxury items were almost non-existent, and every member of the family had a job.

Famine was frequent. This is why the most common prayer is "give us this day our daily bread" - let us have food. Disease was rampant. Life expectancy was 30.
