It depends on who the boy is that is taking her out. It would be wise for the parent to meet the boy and remind him that he is expected to treat the daughter with respect and establish expectations on when he should bring her home.

It depends on the age, but she should relax, have fun and try not to talk too much. The boy will be nervous too.
