What types of bug infections do you get in maple trees?

The most common currently is the Asian Longhorn Beetle (see the USDA.gov for info). In the North, you have carpenter ants. In the Southeast you have both fungal infections and ground nesting termites which can enter through damaged roots. They are also subject to bark beetles and can be damaged by Cycadia especially during the heavy infestation years.

The major insect that infects maple trees is the Asian longhorned beetle, a bug that burrows deep inside the tree to lay eggs and infect it with more bugs

Ants are the most common and they are also the most difficult for the tree to get rid of a net search will help more though.

Maple trees tend to be damaged mostly by disease and infections. In terms of bugs, the one that causes most concern in the Asian Longhorn Beetle. It kills then spreads.
