What tips can you provide on spray staining a fence?

I would like to know what precautions I should make and if I can spray on a windy day.

Spraying on a windy day isn't recommended, because the stain can spray back on you or on other parts of your yard. Make sure that you cover nearby items, so if the spray gets on there it will not stain it too, including brick, sidewalks, driveways, etc. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to paint.

Make sure it's a nice say before you paint. You don't want it to be wet or windy. Make sure you take the proper safety percations like wearing a mask and eye protection.

Make sure that you use the right kind of paint. You want the paint to be thin so it will go through your sprayer.Use gloves and mask and old clothes.I also use vasalein to put on my face the paint comes off easy if you happen to get some on your face. You waste a lot of paint spraying on windy days

If you have plants next to your fence, cover them before you begin spraying, perhaps leaning them gently away from the fence with twine to give yourself room to spray. You will need a calm day to spray, as the wind can carry the tiny droplets to unwanted surfaces.

Although spraying is a great idea, you are right about windy days. Even a slight breeze will make the spray backfire. You need to wear a mask over your nose and mouth and cover all of your body. It take longer by brush but it's safer.
