You're going to want to find a snow boot which will work in wet and cold conditions. It should go above the hem of your pants and preferably higher to avoid getting snow inside the boot. A drawstring or other closure at the foot opening can help prevent this. You'll also want to find something with a good grip.

The best boot for winter should have plenty of insulation around your foot. Rainboots are a great idea for shallow snow that has melted.
