Go somewhere else. The islands are not as beautiful as they've been hyped up to be. Athens is polluted and overcrowded in the summer. There are much more gorgeous places to visit, even in the region that are more beautiful.

Before visiting Greece you should make sure you understand the currency and exchange rate with your own currency. One should also study the the local customs and social ettiquete. Examples would be if tipping is included in the taxi and food bills. Also find out which areas have crime problems for tourists.

Greece is mainland and then thousands of islands. Divide your time between the great historical monuments and the fabulous magic of the islands. Learn a few words in Greek, especially those regarding food. Guage your time well and drink a lot of water especially when it is hot. Look for a local guide to show you around.

Before visiting Greece one should learn the social and business customs of the Greeks. It is also important to understand the currency exchange rate for the Greek currency to your currency. Would also study the maps of the cities and gain an understanding of places where it is unsafe for a tourist to visit.

Well, I got my wallet pick pocketed there. And the sellers always tried to sell stuff which i didn't want to buy, I rather visit Turkey next time, it's just by Greece, people are much warmer there. There's is nothing much to see Greece you know, i had one of the worst weeks in my life there.
