Most dogs should be okay going into pools with the same levels of chemicals as humans swim in. However, if your dog has sensitive skin, it would advisable not to take the dog into the pool. Finally, it is important to make sure the dog doesn't swallow water or get any in its eyes.

The normal balance of chemicals in a treated pool would not be enough to harm most dogs. Some with sensitive skin may have problems, but other than that it is generally safe for your dog to take a dip in the pool. The pool chemicals, if undiluted, could harm a dog and should be stored out of the dogs area.

Generally if you do not use alot of things in your pool and go over the top with it's cleaning treatments it is okay for the dog to swim in it and he/she will not be bothered by any chemicals inside.
