The load center is usually in the same box or very close to the power line coming into your home. To find it, look for the electrical meter. Ensure your load center box has a good ground and feed the main power lines through it.

first you should know that any wiring in the electrical field is dangerious and your generator switches should be off, its very reliable if you get it installed the right way and not half assed, make sure you use the right caps otherwise this could be the cause for a fire in your house

It is a box in which all of the electronic circuits of the house, like light switches wires and wall plug wires, pass through. In this box there are also fuses that help controlling the houses circuits by being the weakest point.
