In order to lift weights with a focus of wrestling in mind, you want to focus on lifting heavier weights with less reps versus light weights and lots of reps.

Start with a light weight and work your way up. You do not want to pull a muscle. You should be able to do 8-10 repetitions per set. Once you go over 10 reps, increase the weight. Try working out the same muscle group then switching to another muscle group.

To start off with, you do not want to do low repetitions with heavy weights, because this will convert your fat into more muscle, and thus increase your weight, which you do not want. You want to work out as lightly as possible and not go over your weight limit for wrestling.
