First and foremost, just let them cry. When you come to the rescue when they are crying, they will expect you to save them everytime they whine. Place a shirt or other object with your scent on it for them to lay on in the crate.

Make sure you buy a crate that is the same size of your dog. If you buy him one that is to big, he will use the bathroom at one end and go sleep at the other end.

When you put them in the crates make sure you put them in at the same time and take them out at the same time and put some toys in for them so it is fun make sure they can all see each other when they are in the crates.

Put them in separate crates. Line the bottom of the crate with a potty pad or a towel and give them a chew toy. Put the puppies in their crates just before bed or if you're going somewhere. Take them to the bathroom first. They will cry for a few days but, DO NOT take them out until morning.

Your puppies should be well trained from the start. They need to be taken outside at the same time daily, and, got to be taught rules when young.

If you're going to crate train your puppies, make sure that the crate allows them plenty of room to sit at their full height and turn around. If they cannot do this, then the crate is too small. However, you don't want the crate to give them too much room. As the puppies grow, they will require bigger crates.
