The trainer is responsible in getting the horse ready for races and the planning of what races
he feels the horse is prepared for. The trainer is the person who initiates the discipline and many trainers specialize in certain fields outside of the racing. This can include training very young horses or even working with certain breeds.
Trainers main job is to condition your horse to safely compete at a given distance. He/ she will also provide proper nutritional management, a clean environment, and continuous monitoring of the health of the horse and his soundness.
A race horse trainer takes care of the needs of the horse. They feed, groom and exercise the horses. They will also prepare the horses to race if that is what the client is looking for. Horse trainers often solve a horses bad habits such as kicking or shying away from grooming.
