Keep her indoors and away from male dogs. There is a doggie diaper called Seasonals that you put a femine hygiene pad in that will keep her from makeing a mess in the house.

If you are not planning to breed your dog you can acutually get what is essentially a dog diaper. You put this on during the dogs heat and change it frequently. It catches the dogs blood and prevents your dog from getting it on your furniture and flooring. You can pick these up at a pet store or online.

Keep your pet confined for 21 days as this is how long it lasts. Then do yourself and the dog a favor and have it spayed!
