You must get in touch with your social security office immediately and report the card lost. If you have the number written down separately, give the office that number or else somebody might try to use this number, which would be fraud. Let anyone know who deals with your social security payments.

You need to go to your local social security off ice and ask for a replacement card. You will need to bring with you your original birth certificate and some kind of picture ID such as a driver's license. There may be a fee but that would vary by state.

Simply contact your local Social Security office to get a replacement card. You are allowed eleven social security cards throughout your lifetime, and if you happen to go through all those cards and can demonstrate that you require another one, they will allow you to go over the limit if you need one.

If you loose your card go to your local Social Security office. You will need to take a copy of your birth certificate. An ID or driver license might be needed. You will be asked to fill out a short form. You can do all this right in the office.
