Make sure the battery is charged. If it's fully charged, check the starter relay. It depends on what year Lincoln you have, but usually the relay for the starter is under the hood near the firewall. If this doesn't fix it, try tapping on the starter with a hammer. If this makes it work, the starter will need rebuilt soon.

Clean battery terminals, check water level, charge state. Charge or jump it, (see operators manual). Check fuses. Fusable links look like wires, but melt when they fail. Starter connections. Mechanic.

First check the battery - do power needy systems like radio, car 'ding' noises, lights seem normal? If not, you probably need a new battery. If electronics are normal, probably a starter or alternator problem and will need a mechanic diagnosis.

it a bad starter or a loose connection in the starter wiring; check the wires to the starter to make sure they are secure. There is a primary power cable (thick) direct from the battery +(Pos) connection post to the starter, which powers the starter motor. check that it will works.

You will need to take it in to have it checked. Only a professional should look at it. You should take it in as soon as you can, the professional can fix it for you. You can also go to the store and get a manual and fix it yourself.
