This is something that you can decide to do some independent research on. You should also talk to your primary doctor,or one who administered the exam. The doctor will try to explain the results and will tell you the next steps that you need to take.

If your mammogram shows something that is suspicious, they will do a breast ultrasound. If the ultrasound is still questionable they will send you to a surgeon for a needle biopsy. Most abnormalities are not cancer. I speak from experience, as I am a breast cancer survivor.

An abnormal baseline mammogram can be caused by all sorts of things. Many entirely benign conditions can result in an abnormal reading. Natural variations in breast tissue among different women can also lead to abnormal mammogram results. Talk to a healthcare professional about where to go from here. They can arrange further tests to make sure everything's OK.

Didn't your doctor tell you anything more? Every body is different and that doesnt necessarily indicate disease. Your doctor would have said something if you needed to be worried.

Writing from personal experience, I would recommend requesting a biopsy on the abnormal area. I chose this route and it turned out to be cancer. My very first mammogram. I had my breast removed and because it was caught early, I did not have to have any other treatment. Leaving it to "watch" is not a good answer.
