Here in the south we have Satsuma oranges and they do great as long as we give them lots of water and use a good fruit fertilizer. You should also prune your fruit tree every fall. You can check and see when you should do it according to the region.

I have always used a liquid fertilizer every four to six weeks from around February until August. You don't need to water your tree daily just make sure you give it a good soaking every 7 days or so unless you live in an extremely hot amd dry area.

I think liquid fertilizer works the best over the granules and spikes because it soaks in immediately.  add a comment

There are some great spray fertilizers specifically for fruit trees that you can use. I've found that if I use a fertilizer every 2 months that I've had more fruit production. This of course is in addition to the quantities of water that I gave my tree daily.

You should feed orange tree lots of water and fertilizer. The best fertilizer is the fertilizer spikes specifically made for citrus fruits like oranges. This promotes lush green foliage and it supplies nutrients for the tree.
