Dogs do not like Marigolds. The mustard plant also repels dogs. The herb lemongrass is a good choice to plant in between other plants that you do not want your dog to destroy.

Cacti and prickly plants usually repel dogs, but this may be harmful it may pierce their skin. Peppers can also be planted, as they do not like the spiciness.

Dogs usually do not like citrus plants like lemon or orange and plants that have sharp edges. Like prickly pear or hollies. You can also put lemon and orange peels around if you are in a northern climate.

For one, tomato plants repel dogs. Maybe it is the smell, the texture, I am not entirely sure, but tomato plants repel dogs, and may possibly be poisonous to some of them. A safer approach, probably would be chili pepper plants.

There are no plants that repel dogs, however, you will want to use lemon rinds and spread them around the soil and also spread rose thorns to discourage the dog.

Anise, Bergamot, Castor, Citronella, Lemongrass, Marigolds, Mint such as spearmint, and citrus are repelling to dogs (and cats too, for the most part). If you do not have room or warm enough weather for citrus, the various rinds could be sprinkled in the garden, where they will make compost after their aromatic oils are spent.

They dislike strong smells, but the only plant that will repel dogs by itself is the calendula, not marigolds. Calendulas are in the daisy family. Otherwise, you have to use plants like pepper or citrus fruit and grind them and spray them around. The calendula plant apparently repels dogs itself.

I know cats hate anything with citrus, dogs however dont care, try sprinkling flea powder around the border of anything you are planting or around where you want them out.
