Not many pests are known to attack Chinese Evergreens other than occasionally the mealybug and spider mites, but if you control the problem when first noticed it won't become serious.

Mealy bugs can be pests toward chinese evergreens. Soil-borne nematodes and mites can also be pests for these plants. Other insects, such as scale insects, white winged insects or white fly, bagworms, and aphids can be problematic as well. Fungus, tip blight and bacteria can also be problems resulting from excessive watering.

A common pest to the Chinese Evergreen is the "mealy bug". The Mealy bug is a small (about 1/8 inch) bug that is white and looks like small pieces of cotton. The mealy bug can be treated with insecticides.
