There are around 38.4% of people who have O+ blood type being 1 person in every 3. Blood type O- makes up about 7.7% of the people being 1 person in every 15. Type O is the most common. AB+ has a ratio of 3.2% or 1 in every 29 people. However, AB- forms only .7% or about 1 in 167 people.

According is the Red Cross 38% of people have O positive blood, 34% have A positive, 9% have B positive, the remaining 19% is split between the other types.

The American Red Cross reports the following overall prevalance of the various blood types in the United States: 38% O+, 7% O-, 34% A+, 6% A-, 9% B+, 2% B-, 3% AB+, 1% AB-. The proportion of each blood type varies somewhat by ethnicity. For example, among Hispanics, 53% have type O+.

36.44% of the total have O+ blood type. 4.33% have O- blood type. 28.27% have A+ blood type. 3.52% have A- blood type. 20.59% have B+ blood type. 1.39% have B- blood type. 5.06% have AB+ blood type. 0.45% have AB- blood type. The +/- refers to Rh-factor.
