Potassium is very high in bananas. But if you have had any heart problems, you can overdo it on bananas. Check with your doctor and what he thinks. He might want you to only eat 1/2 banana a day.

The banana is high in potassium. Potassium is a mineral (nutrient) that is vital for almost every process that are body does (albeit at a cellular level). Be aware that it does not contain too much fibre. Bananas are not too high in natural sugars so would be good for a diabetic.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, as well as supplying calcium, iron, phosphorus and manganese. They are rich in Vitamin C and also provide Vitamin A and Vitamin B. They are low in fat, cholesterol, and sodium. They do, however, have a high sugar content, so eat in moderation!
