An employee must be paid for the hours worked within a pay period, including time-and-a-half for hours over 40 worked during that time. It is illegal for an employer to "move" hours to another pay period to avoid paying overtime. Report this activity to the Labor Relations Board. The phone number is in the blue pages under "state. "

There are federal and state laws protecting workers from unfair practices. Your employer is required to post a notice of your rights as a worker - look for it.
